Donate to help an emerging nonprofit organization thrive
Grassroots groups make a significant contribution to the vibrancy and resiliency of our Halton communities and neighbourhoods, however, they are not always part of the conversations, capacity building opportunities, and the spotlight. We believe it is important to change this.
We invite you to contribute to our Developing Community Roots membership program that will support up to 25 grass roots groups over the next 12 months. The fund provides full CDH membership access to new and/or emerging grass roots groups and will cover support for volunteer recruitment through the Volunteer Halton database, provide access to CDH Educates workshops, offer consultation support to help grass roots groups build their capacity, and spotlight them with an opportunity to tell their story to increase awareness of their work and its impact in Halton.
A one-time contribution of $125 provides a year of support for one grass roots group. This Giving Tuesday, enable an organization by providing them with tools and resources to help them increase their impact in community.
About Community Development Halton
Community Development Halton is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community and promoting social welfare, community engagement, and overall development within the Halton region.
Our mission involves research, community development, planning, and promoting volunteerism to improve the quality of life for all residents of Halton. We work with community nonprofit agencies, municipal and regional government, and local grassroots organizations to build vibrant and inclusive communities where all people prosper.
Our initiatives include community-based research, needs identification, education, training, volunteerism, community engagement, age-friendly initiatives, and policy analysis for systems change. We are committed to creating and implementing programs that foster growth, collaboration, and positive change within the Halton region, with a focus on community, volunteerism, diversity, equity, and social justice.
Our principles include independence, community accountability, knowledge-based action, citizen participation, inclusiveness, and empowerment. Our organization is led by an executive director and a dedicated team of staff members and board members. We also value social development and social change and are active on various social media platforms.
